According to a report that was issued by the National
Centers for Injury Control and Prevention (CDC) in July 2002
- from July 1, 2000 through June 30, 2001:
· 2,767 children
were run or backed over by a motor vehicle.
· 82 percent of the children who died in reversing accidents
were less than four years of age.
· 73.1 percent of the cases where a child was killed in a
reverse-motion accident, show the child was in
the driveway or on the street in front of their home. |
